1809 Riots at The Royal Opera House

In 1808, the Royal Opera House burnt down. When it was rebuilt, the owner raised the ticket prices. Oops! Apparently opera audiences were a bit less… restrained back then. They rioted, shouting, “O-P! O-P!” That stood for “Old Prices!” The owner had to restore the previous ticket prices to prevent another disaster.
